First off I would never trust anything a dealership would tell me.....
First offffff he lied to you tell you that if its not a 2008 Challeneger
then it will be a 2009.....If you ordered a 2008 and it does not come in
it willnot be turned into a 2009 challenger unless you makeup a NEW contract.
On your contract it says that you want a 2008 and not a 2009???
Once your salesperson told you that,,,I would think I will never see the car
and I would want my money back......
If you order any car and they cannot get it,,,It NEVER changes to the NEXT year........
To me you are best of to wait and see the car on your dealers lot,This is the problem

All dealers and most salespeople are Scum.....
I have been buying New cars for the last 20 years,,,and I have NEVER seen a salesperson
that I bought my car from the PAST whenever I want to buy something new...
There are big turmovers on salespeople because they are there to screw yeaaaa like
if you want to buy a timeshare....

jt, sorry but i have an 08 ordered by 9:30 am, on 12/3,. I have the order sheet with VON, deposit amount and both our signatures. I know what I have coming.... No doubt. Dodge is keeping challenger news tight to the vest. Like I said in a much earlier post. The earlybird gets the worm.The challenger will come out in May, in time for the challenger 500, nascar race, it only makes sense. Look for commercials being aired in april. In june you can probably place an order for 09 model.

I think many of these dealers are taking orders for cars they know can't get, holding your money for months only to tell you later they couldn't get your car. (But we can get you a 2009)

My personal opinion is that if you have one ordered and have a von# and "C" status you have a good chance of getting one.

Anyone on the forum that has one ordered not on "C" status?

Toronto, The first ones are sold as 2008 3/4, so I don' think they would be titled as 2009, but I don't know. What I do know is that dealers know about what we know, no much.

I have 2 friends that have ordered 2008 Challengers the first day and they got there when the doors opened at dodge...
Both are number 1 and number 3 at 2 different dealers...
Both are at C and both have no Vin# YET...
The dealers are now saying that they might not be able to get the cars that they want.(but they told them in the past weeks that they will be getting 8 and the other dealer 12 challengers.
But they will have a few on the lot for their allocations to sell a few thousand over MSRP...
Yep they went to big honest dealerships lollll.
As I also said if you order a 2008 challenger and it does not come in.
The dealer cannot change it to a 2009 with out you signing a new contract and getting back on the line again ....
Like I said I do hope everyone gets their cars,but I think they should also know what most of the scummy
dealers will do........JT

For example:

"8G" designates a 2008 Dodge Ram. "G" represents the Saltillo plant; the Challengers will have "H" for Brampton.
