After owning my 2009 R/T for two weeks, it amazes me that this car is not faster. The culprit has got to be the 3.08 rear end gearing.

Has anyone looked into changing the rear end ? In order to wake up this car, I would swap the rear end and get the 3.92 gears of the 6 speed model.

Anybody try this yet???

 

Wait til after 1000 miles. Should wake up some as some have said perhaps the computer is holding back some hp for break in.

 

Let everything seat as the car needs time to "break in" before judging what you have.....you may be surprised......then if not.......get the check book out....

 

I hope you don't drive on the freeway much. As a 3.92 gear with a auto trans will be turning some high rmp's at freeway speeds.

 

there has been reports of the rt doing 5.3 0-60 with a non broken in engine so imagine when broken in. Make sure you drive aggresively so the computer picks that up.

 

It is the gearing!

My 67 charger had the granny 2.94 gears.

I changed it to the 3.55 and it did wake it up.

I would not go that high yet. Try the 3.55's first is my recommendation.

mine seems a bit sluggish too, but I've heard it will wake up after the break in.
I'm only at 200miles now.
BTW........how many miles are we supposed to take it easy with this car before we open it up?
I haven't gotten that far in the manual yet......8)

Mine was what I thought was very week until about 600 miles and it keeps getting better. I'm at 1200 now since I got the car the first week of July and it's a beast.
