Hemi-Orange is not a color for the 2009 SRT- only the R/T.

thats what i have heard also and its in the brochure showing only on the R/T ---i was wondering why and thay dont show plum crazy and or the green for 2009 i would of thought these 2 colors would have been first to roll out.....i am wondering why 2008 srt is available in orange????

Joani, From what I can gather there are roughly 15 or so people that post here that have a 2008 on order, 12 or so that have revealed there VIN. Of the 12 that have given a VIN you are the lowest with 137. The next lowest is 321, followed closely by 323. The highest on the board is 1043 and that one is D status, as should all of the others with lower numbers. And YOU are the only one that has D1 status so far. The others cannot be far behind so maybe we will hear something this week or next.

After an ugly winter the weather is finally starting to break here in the midwest. Today, convertable tops are down and I am getting antsy...

Maybe they are saving the best colors for later in order to maintain a high demand and enable their dealers to keep getting good markups over msrp. I don't think that Dodge dealers are having good sales of new Dodge cars right now, other than Challenger. Or maybe they are just really out of touch with what the buyers want. Or maybe they're being ultraconservative with the colors, thinking it would be safer to use mostly the same boring colors that most new cars come in nowadays. I think around 60% of all the 2008 Challenger SRT8's were ordered in Hemi Orange, so that right there proves the popularity of heritage mopar colors and should be a big clue to Dodge about what we want.

So your saying that me and two others are the only ones still in "C" statis :(
I did get my order in late ( two months ago)
AND Im paying msrp so might be worth the wait...

I just wanted to add my VIN# to this thread- 8H290067. The dealer ordered my Challenger on December 3rd at 12:17 (at least that is what is on the printout). I put money down on the car on 8 December and modified the options (all) including the color, I changed it from orange to black. My relatively low VIN# is probably because the order was only modified on the 8th and not actually changed. Bought it MSRP from dealer. Currently the car is in D status. I hope it goes to D1 status soon.

my color is orange, far as i know it is still in d status. I will check this coming week for any progress.

OK I think I am getting closer. The first thing I did when I woke up was call and see if I have a VIN and they said No and it is still status C for my 2008 orange with all options and at MSRP. They still say I will get my 2008 but it was ordered late 1/9 and should be one of the last ones built. Well I called again at closing and they say that there is now part of a VIN 8H and it is still in status C. I will keep you all posted.
