Well the sort of good news is that today my first Challenger was delivered! Too bad is I ordered a 6 speed and it came in as an auto. Yes I went and verified the VIN and order form. The build sheet says 6 speed. So, I am passing up this car and it will be for sale at the dealer if anyone is interested in an SRT8 minus sunroof, minus MyGig, with perf tires though. It is Hemi Orange. I will wait for Rerun, my 2nd ordered car.

I am just amazed that they can send you a car with the wrong transmission. The first time I read about this on the forum, I thought it must be some sort of fluke, but now twice! Unbelievable! By the way, what stripes were on this car? Carbon or black?

Yes it was a total bummer when they told me about it. I had a very bad weekend after hearing it I can tell you. Anyway, the car has CF hood stripes. Plus one thing also I noticed different and may be its my eyes but the stripes on the interior arent Orange, they are red. The dealer says this is a change for 09 but I am not sure of that.

Yup, the Orange seat inserts were for the 08s only. Ive known about that for a while now. The Spring Special will come with blue inserts.
Sorry again about your transmission. But if it had been a M/T you probably still wouldnt have it. It seems like all the Manual SRTs are on hold for some reason. They have a ton of them stored on the lot in Windsor. I wish I knew what is going on.

My car has been there for almost two weeks now, and I know the stripe was put on early last week. They just refuse to let them ship for some reason. I was holding my breath and praying that I would get the chance to pick up my car before I deploy to Afghanistan, but I think it has been too long now. If they had released it Today, I might have had a chance. Now it will take a miracle. It should only take a couple days to get to the port, but most likely it will get stuck in a train yard somewhere for a few days. Then it will sit in port for who knows how long waiting for a ship. Then it takes a minimum of 10 days to cross the Atlantic. So if it left tommorrow, I place it here in Germany possibly around the 28th. So it would JUST make it. But with they way its going, the probably wont even deliver it to the railyard for another week. Needless to say, Im totally bummed right now.

SKiDs, well buddy I do feel for you. It totally sucks that they cant get your car to you. It will really suck for you to over in the sandbox ll and have your beauty waiting for you. At least it should be more of an incentive to keep your head down and hurry back. Wish there was something I could do to roll your car for you.

My dealer doesn't expect any move or change from my D status until November.

He indicated weeks ago that the shortage of the performance tires will be eliminated in November.

Hearing that there are a bunch of 09 SRT8 with manuals sitting around (on hold) I assume with tires on them that the hold is due to the manual transmission or a sound bite indicating the differentials were breaking with the 6.1 manual trans combo.

Does anyone know?

I'm frustrated waiting, but it gives a chance for some of my investments to rise back up - maybe after the presidential elections - maybe never - who knows

I feel for ya bro as I am in the same boat, although I have an Auto SRT8 and regular tires but my car is out there in limbo. According to Vinwin and my dealer, Im still in JB and appear held up in Windsor. My ETA, which was supposed to be tomorrow, is headed into oblivion. Ahh, the wait continues.[:@]
