I hear ya.
Im figuring - STILL without OFFICIAL pricing - that my 09 srt with the formula tires, six speed Tremec T6060, and option group II (Kicker Sound System) will total about $46,200.00 with everything added in ($1700 gas guzzler tax, 6% sales tax, inspection, title and registration).
Hope thats not far off - or my wife will set me adrift with my dream in tow.

No nav or mygig for me. I want a performance car (with a good sound system), so just the manual, which has all of the goodies I want in the TrakPak anyway, tires, and kicker stereo.

 

Bootcamp, I am with you there! I have ordered my 09 exactly like that, with of course, Hemi Orange paint on it! To me this car is a reincarnation of the original which was meant to go fast period. Not being a luxury liner. But hey, to each their own, they can build it they way they want. Me, I prefer to be lean and mean all the way.

 

Lol 100k for a challenger? Even ones on ebay with buy it now in the 60s are not selling.

I think they lowered price to 91grand...Bob Larson in Puyallup,WA on floor 71grand ..Auto trader ad says MSRP......The Ebay ones are going on average 43grand....

 

Yes but most folk work at starbucks not for microsoft. Speaking of starbucks, sounds like they are going to close 600 stores nationwide. I consider them the canary inside the mine regarding the economy. Think in a few years, I will get an awesome deal on a challenger unless things turn around regarding fuel price. I really do believe we are reliving the 70's again except for disco which means high interest rates to counter inflation and most folks income will not keep pace with stagflation coupled with higher unemployment. We really do need to drill quickly, add nukes, use shale rock oil and keep developing the green technologies including E-85 if we would start using sugar beets and stop using low yield corn regarding the production of ethanol

Okay done ranting and things will turn around eventually, just have to ride things out.

It's called the free market and it's a lot better than communism in the former USSR, where they had fixed prices and severe shortages of products for sale and you had to wait in extremely long lines to get things. I don't think it's sad. I think it's fantastic that some people have that much money and don't have to wait. I want to be one of those people. The sooner the better.

If you restrict prices, you're going to have product shortages and all kinda bad problems.
