do you by chance mean 331-354-392? i think that the smaller was a 331, but im not certain, and i cant get ahold of my dad (he was a chrysler tech in the early 60s to early 70s...can you believe that for advertising, they used to take a fast car off the showroom floor, slap a big dealership magnet on it, and send him to the dragstrip!!)

i have seen many built up 392s, but ive not seen either of the smaller models built up...

when my dad ran in the early to mid 60s for the dealership, the "fastest car" on the lot that they would give him ran mid 15s...
he would ran with large magnetic decals on the doors, and a few years ago, there was a reunion day for that track (it was a big deal when it closed). I was able to run the Mirada at the reunion day with the SAME magnetic decals that my dad ran with some 40 years earlier. About a week beforehand, someone called who still works at that dealership my dad and said "can you believe that we found the old race car magnets"? So for the event, the mirada flew the burgunder dodge logos like my dad had long ago.

(except my car was a few seconds faster! )

yes...a low compression 340.

i was running in the 12.60s two years ago before moving, and when i moved, the car didnt move with me...it is stored with my parents, and my dad still runs it. it has gotten new gears, stall, some weight reduction, headers, and a tune up since that, and i will be running it later this month. while my dad has been running it over the last year or so, with the new gears and such, traction has become an issue...so i bought new slicks for it, and as my dad has had some surgeries recently, he has not had time to get it to the track.

NOTHING WRONG WITH 12.60'S,
I KNOW WHEN ME AND A BUDDY WERE RUNNING THAT 70 DUSTER
WITH A 440 A/T WE WERE ALWAYS TRYING TO GET IT FASTER.
HAD PLASTIC DOORS HOOD DOOR SKINS DECK LID ETC,
ALWAYS TWEAKING SOME THING ON THE ENGINE.
LAST THING HE DID WAS PUT A HUGH HIGH LIFT CAM IN .
AND BLEW IT UP. WERE TOLD DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH FUEL DELIVERY. HAD
WRONG FUEL LINE SIZE/AND COUPLE OTHER FACTORS , CANT REMBER AS OF RIGHT NOW.
WISH HE WOULD GET BACK INTO IT THOUGH.
MAYBE WHEN I GET MY CHALLY DONE I/LL HAVE TO GO AND MAKE SOME PASSES WITH THAT.

OH BY THE WAY WE STARTED AROUND 13.80'S AND TIME HE BLEW IT WE HAD IT RUNNING DOWN
INTO THE LOW 10'S. WAS A TOTAL BLAST

well, i think that for as fat as the car is (3700lb race weight) mid 12s is decent for a small block on 87 octane...the gears and TC should get that down more once the slicks are on...id like it to get into the 11s at some point.

mirada i agree, when you get the slicks on keep playing with your tire preesure
we ran between 9-12 pounds, i think and went from there, tring different jets etc , till
we had i sort of dialed in ,

keep trying different combos to you
want to be at where your at
without breaking the bank..
alot of times guys stick a ton of moey into cars ,
and you just have to go back to the basics to get what your after,

just a thought on the subject ,so keep us posted
when you get the mirada back on the track.

i dont have a ton of money into the car...thats the best part...

i know that with my street slicks, we ran around 15psi...and as for jetting, i think that we are running 90s in the front and rear maybe 88s...its been a while since ive had the car in my garage, so i dont recall exactly..
