Hey all, Im stoked that I just found this great website .
Im a previous owner of a 70 challenger that was a project that I never got on the road and ended up selling it.
The wife has just gave me the go ahead to purchase the SRT8 but with the exception it will have to be a black one.
I have a Question

Do I purchase a 08 with production of 6400 or do I purchase a 09 with a manual tranny? Im having a hard time trying to decide.

 

go for the 08, if that fails fall back on a 09, The 09 should be less money but if that isn't an issue enjoy the car now with an 08

 

The 08s are less money actually by about $3000 vs the 09 manul from what I understand. If you want the manual better get to ordering... may already be to late unless someone backs out of thier order. Either way should be a very cool car. I really like the auto stick... suits The Car very nicely... Cheers... and Good Luck!!

 

After tuning for the automatic you wont miss the manual. The slap shift is great, and no clutch needed

 

I agree and disagree. While sticker on the 09s is higher, the adjustment on the 08s still makes them very comparable.
If you really want the standard, wait for the 09. It will come with the trackpack - which includes true LSD and a tuned exhaust.
If you cant wait, get an 08.
They both come in black, so the color isnt an issue.

 

I would get SILVER 08.......we know why.....

Guess I didnt consider that... got mine at MSRP... adjustment wasnt a factor in my particular case...

 

The 08's are real at you can be driving tomorrow. Enough of them that msrp can be had. If you have to buy the slower black then may as well get it over with....

So heres what I think I found out.
Go with the car now and take the automatic and enjoy having the first one in town. As for the price difference with the mark up ive seen it will be about the same as having 09 stick. Im having problems finding one for MSRP I had a dealer offer me a hemi orange on black for 2000 above msrp which is ok but wrong color.

So does the Challenger srt8 have a rev limiter or will it do what the speedo says?
Of the 3 colors which have the less production.
Is the black ones really slower ? haha I know they arent so should I go silver .
