Default Identifying a TRUE R/T

Hello all, we're new to the forum. Am I correct that the "S" in the VIN (second letter, which stands for SPECIAL) is a R/T car?
Thanks

Well, from what I looked up, so far the S does seem to fit that, though I'm not the one to confirm that. It's on this 71 Challenger.

The car is a 71 Challenger, according to the American Car ID #'s book, the "S" (Special) identifies the Class.

The 2nd digit does mean it's a Challenger R/T. Here is a VIN decoder website if you want to use it. Scroll down to the right year and everything you need should be there.
