Default new guy......rookie.......probie.......

Hey all, just wanted to drop a line and see who I can talk to about my car. Here's the skinny. I have a 71 Challenger currently with a 318, 3 speed, new interior and a half way decent paint job. It is a solid car with the exception of the trunk. Luckily I know how to replace floor pans, trunks, and any kind of paint and body work. The part that I am kind of unfamiliar with is replacing the 318 with either a 440 or if I can get my hands on one, a Hemi. of course I am changing hte 3 speed to a 4 speed. I guess my problem lies with where do i start and what is all entailed? If anyone has done this please let me know and you will be my new best friend.

Wow, I love your Challenger and the old coup in the back ground along with the old gas pump and telephone booth.

Is that like an outdoor museum......that is so cool.

Well, several of the guys are at the Woodward Dream Cruise and probably soaken wet because of the rains
but when they get back the should be able to help you with your 440 change over.

Welcome to the forum and the passion for the Challenger.

Hey, welcome to the site! Here is a sight were you can get a crate engine. www.hemi.com They are pretty expensive. As for the transmission, you'll have to ask someone else.
