Default New Guy Trying to Learn How to Track my Factory Order

Hi All,

I've read in various posts in here folks tracking the status of their cars as they are being built. Can someone give me information on how to do that? I asked my salesman but that was one thing he wasn't helpful with. I've ordered an 09 R/T, 6Spd Manual, White, Power Sunroof, Mygig, Leather, HID Headlights, 18" tires/rims. They're telling me approximately 16 - 20 weeks delivery time but I'm thinking maybe February time frame.

I've had the itch for this car since I saw the first news release on it. I test drove one before I placed my order and that drove the nail into the coffin.. WOW! I can't wait until it gets here.

Thanks..

Congratulations and welcome firehawg. Have a VIN # yet?? You will need a VIN # to track the order. Cheers!

Go to the Unofficial Registry page and create your account. Once you get a Vin# and it goes to D1 you can track it through the VinWin item in the menu at the bottom of the page.

You can also track your order with the VON (Vehicle Order Number) that should be on the printed order form from your dealer (should have given you). The VON is an eight-digit number.
You can call Customer Service at 1-800-992-1997, follow the prompts, and provide the rep with the VON and they should be able to tell you what the status is between BA and D. Once it reaches D1, as stated above, you can check it on VinWin or through the registry.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all of the information it is greatly appreciated and will come in handy. No I don't have a VON (and of course a VIN) yet. I placed my order a little over a week ago and the dealer is telling me it will take a while to recieve the VON. What has everyone else out there been experiencing? Is it taking a while to recieve the VON back from the dealer? All of the vehicles I've bought (and I've bought a bunch) this is the first vehicle that I have factory ordered so I'm not familiar with the process.

Thanks again for all your help and info.

firehawg, you should get a VON with your order, that is what VON stands for, Vehicle Order Number. I would go back to the dealer and demand the VON as he gets it as soon as he puts your order in for the car.
