New Mopar Head
Been a Mopar fan/owner all my life. Yes, my dad was one too. I am anxiously awaiting the 08 Challenger. Had to settle for a Duster when I was a teenager. Currently, I own an 05 Ram 1500 (yes, it got one), and an 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee (no, it doesn't have a HEMI).

Hey thats the same car almost as I had in high school. 72 Orange Duster 340 4 speed. I had a lot of fun in that car and man what a machine it was. Headers a cam and some chrome and aluminium parts. Its was a high 13 sec car and a heck of a street racer. Welcome to the site and do you have some more pics of that Duster. I have thought about looking for another one but the price is getting a little high right now and I have too many other projects. But Oh the memories that car brings and the good times I had in that car. There were many a big blocks that fell to that Duster in the Kannapolis, Concord area. Take care and thanks for the pic and a chance for me to be 16 for a while again.
Sorry,
I had problems logging back on. I had to request a new password, and now I'm back. The Duster in the photo is a 1971 with a 318 3-speed on the floor. It had an orange and black plaid split bench seat. I have very few pictures of this car. My Mom's 72 Plymouth Scamp is in the driveway, and my Dad's 66 (I think) Chevy truck. I bought the car in 1977. It had the factory rallye wheels on it when I bought it, and I swapped them out for the wheels and tires that were on the car I traded in. If only we new.

When you get a car that is a few years old some things on the car can be changed. That is definetly a 340 grill, they only put them in the cars that had 340s. But the question would be did they change the motor to a 318 or was a 340 grill put on this car. A lot of guys knew the little differences between the cars. If you were going to race on the street, you had to know your cars. There were also guys that put the lower performing body panels and markings on the top performing cars to throw another racer off as an easy kill. But after one run you knew you were had. I really like that car of yours and wish like you that I still had mine. But we will make some new memories with the new Challengers and have an awsome time doing it. Let the street wars begin.
