Notice the last picture is not at INDY, but Detroit, Chrysler Headquarters under construction.

 

Thanks for sharing those pictures. The interesting thing is they had the picture of the Stealth that they were going to use incase the Viper had problems. The picture of that V10 was the Iron V10 I believe.

 

I don't remember if that was iron or aluminum. And that was the back up Stealth parked next to the V-10. Those were located in one of the garages in the pits. I met Al Unser Sr. while I was there as well.

 

what were you doing in the pits?

 

Having fun... that is unlike any other track I have ever seen. If you ever get the chance, it is worth every minute. Meet drivers, watch crews working on cars, a must experience.

 

A.J. Foyt also. That was back when he was still racing. I'll look for pics of some of the drivers, their rigs, cars.

I think I have some pictures of Bobby Unser and his car in the pits of a Formula 1 some where, I'll have to look for those. Those Indy and Formula 1 cars are the ultimate racing machines.

 

So mosleyle, how was it that you had permission to be in the pit and take those pictures? I'm pretty sure the black covers version was cast-iron. I could be sure if I had my Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth muscle cars book with me (darn it!). [:@]
