Chrysler Incentive?? $2.99 Gas Deal
So all the people that bought a vehicle over the summer when gas was sky-high and signed up for that "Never pay over $2.99 a gallon for gas"-what happens now that gas is well below 2.99 in most of the country?
I remember seeing the commercials and asked myself, "Self, what if gas goes under $2.99?"
People at my work swore to me that gas would never be less than 3 bucks a gallon.

They pay Chrysler the difference and then Chrysler can use the extra money to develop new cars that use less of the $2.xx gas and avoid the merger....contunuing on as a stronger Dodge Corp.
(OK, I just awoke from my dream...)

OPEC slashed production so we'll see how long it stays low. (reason they say they cut production is because it costs about 40 dollars to pump a barral of oil and they don't want it to get below that mark)

I read some time ago that Chrysler's own projection showed the price of gas in the $2.75-per-gallon range by now. They, too, expected the oil market to collapse, but obviously not at the speed that it has. In other words, when they originally made the offer, they were figuring that gasoline would be below their stated price within a relatively short time, thereby letting them off the hook. Actually, pretty smart marketing.

Oil companies expected the price to go down. That is one reason they haven't been throwing money at shale oil development and alternative energies. Historically the market has gone up and down. They aren't ignorant of that fact regardless of whether the average citizen is.
I expect it to get back to over $3/gallon next summer. I'm hoping it gets as low as $2.49/gallon for premium this winter.

The $2.99 is probably seasonal. Gas will be above $2.99 next summer most likely. My memory is a little fuzzy on the way this incentive worked. If it is based on a special card, then don't use it right now and save it for the summer. If it is based on a credit card, then use a different credit card, or use cash would be my advice. No sense in paying more for no reason if you ask me. I would use the incentive during the summer for two vehicles (offer a family member or friend to share the incentive for some money) and not use it during the winter.

you can save money on gas if you live near a Safeway or a Safeway sister store. You can get gas rewards from shopping there with the PowerPump program. Just go to Safeway.com/PowerPump and you can type in your zip code to find the one nearest you.

Perhaps we should all just be thankful that gas has come down in price.

Well, Joe, all I can say is that ever since I bought my Challenger, gas prices have fallen. So not only did I help the economy by buying the car, I helped average Americans' wallets by lowering the price of gas for them. [8D]

You will need that as soon as Obama takes office.
He will stop the Drill at home immediately.
Gas dropped as soon as the plan started.[X(]
Somebody was buying stock a while back to pay for their Challenger..hows that going?
I think Andre had the right idea about what was happening.
