Anyone affected by this? How are you going to save your cars from flooding?
I heard that flooded cars become stinky from mold/mildew growing inside them.
Also Houston is the 4th largest city in America so the damage could be immense.
Ike is likely to strengthen to cat 3 before it hits Texas.

To tell you the truth, it's hard to believe anyone is left along the coast or in Houston. Thousands of people flocked to San Antonio the past couple of days to get out of the way of the storm. The term that's being used, since S.A. is a tourist mecca, is that they're taking a hurrication.
Naturally, gasoline went up about 15 cents overnight and is hovering around $3.65. Fortunately, it doesn't appear right now that the Houston Ship Channel got inundated. Had that happened, we'd be in deep you-know-what. A lot of petrochemical products flow through that port.

Yes there are several million people without power in Houston and it will take 2 weeks to restore all of it.
Exxon in Baytown, TX which is next to Houston is the largest oil refinery in the U.S. and provides 25% of the oil in the U.S..
The price of gasoline is for sure going to go back up to $4.00 for everybody in the U.S..

Kind of sucks down there now, Thoughts and prayers going out to all there. NOW for up here in the New England area, with the news down there with the refineries, gas seems to go up here every few hours[:@] It was ALMOST getting manageable at 3.60 a gallon. I see over 4.50 coming soon, and probably not dropping while they can get the profit.

Well, in sunny San Antonio this afternoon, gas has gone back DOWN to $3.45/gallon. Go figure.
