A import you would be caught dead in
Just for fun, what are the cars that you would not mind owning that are from the "Rising Sun" area of the world, otherwise known as Japan? The limits are:
From Japan
Anything from 2000 to the beginning of cars
Around $12,000 in price and/or value.
Does not have to be cars, can be trucks
Can also be cars not released in the US, ex Skyline.
You can name more than one car.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I own a modded 88 Conquest TSI and a 91 Stealth R/T. I drive the Stealth daily 250,000 miles and runs like a top. Looks good too. The Conquest is quicker and more fun to drive. Rear wheel drive! But the Stealth gets 25 mpg and is a blast to drive with the intrax springs and cobra R 18x9 wheels. This thing will corner. Its also the fastest car I own, or at least the smoothest at 150. The Conquest has extensive mods and is not the most reliable. These cars are what they are. But I would rather be in my Challenger, creaky ride and all. But a Supra with 1000 hp would be a nice ride.

12,000 isn't alot to work with!!!!!! but i like my 1996 200SX with a SR20DET swap, I have around 12,000 in it.

Well this is about how much I have to work with for my next car. It sucks that I can't get any more for something better.

that can buy a nice car with some power in it. take my car for example, you buy a 200SX SE-R (the one i have) for around 4000-6000 and then do the DET swap for around 2500-3000 and have a car with depending on what motor you drop in it 210-260 hp

RE: A import you would be caught dead in
I haven't owned either of these cars, but I've heard from others that they're fun drivers:
1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo Coupe
and although it's maybe in the $16-18K range, a 1991 Acura NSX (anything newer is way out of the $12K pricing).
Anyone driven these cars?
If so, what do you think?

For my own it would have to be a Mazda of some sort possibly a Miata or even a MX-6, I don't think that these are higher than 12,000 used. I will not get a Toyota, a personal rule I don't buy things that have "TOY" in their name.

I owned a 94 300ZX for the longest time, it's my 3rd favorite car of any, behind the Last Supra and the 1969 Charger R/T. I bought my Z in 2001 for about 15K, so you could def. pick one up in that range now. A little tough to find, but a truly fun car to drive and so easy on the eyes!
