My Saturday sucked.....
I've had a Cover-It storage shelter since 1994 that has housed several of my cars over the years. Never had a problem with it in any New England winters..... until yesterday. Looked out my back window, and the first pic is what I saw. Apparently with all the heavy wet snow we had in our last storm, combined with the cold snap that followed, there was just too much weight on it to hold it anymore.... about the only thing that kept it from collapsing to the ground was my '67 R/T ragtop, unfortunately....[:@]

The resulting aftermath below.... looks like both top bows will need to be replaced, and the right side frame is bowed downward... not sure if it's salvageable or not. And of course, there were a couple punctures in the top as well.....[&o]

man..that sucks...sorry to hear about that.
if there is a bright side...if it had been a hardtop, you would have had to deal with body shop fees...was the top original?

The top wasn't original.... was probably 5-6 years old. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it though, so it sucks to have to replace it now. On the plus side, I talked to my insurance company, and since I carry comprehensive on the car year-round, they will cover the damage less my 250.00 deductible. Just have to find parts and a shop to do the work now.

Ouch! Sorry to hear and see that. We had a wicked winter in NW Missouri. Some people I knew went through the same thing with the hundreds, upon thousands of trees we have all over the campus. Now I'm glad I didn't park under any trees, because it wasn't good for many people.

Insurance adjuster came and looked the car over Friday... seemed pretty willing to do whatever is necessary to make the car right again; he could see the overall condition was great, and was pretty willing to work with local resto shops (as opposed to the usual body shops) to have it done right.
