Nothing keeps the cops away like a high powered sports car with a pot leaf on the hood.

SPECS
2008 Ford Mustang Convertible
As-tested price: $30,900
Drivetrain: 4.0-liter V6; rwd, five-speed automatic
Output: 210 hp @ 5300 rpm, 240 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm
Curb weight: 3352 lb
Fuel economy (EPA): 20 mpg
Options: Safety package including active antitheft system, wheel locks, antilock brakes, traction control ($995); leather trim, sport bucket seats ($695); comfort group with heated seats ($575); HID headlamps ($525); interior upgrade package ($460); premier trim package ($395); 17-inch wheels ($325); ambient lighting ($295); cloth convertible roof ($230); satellite radio ($195); convertible boot cover ($160)SPE
OUR TAKE: The Mustang convertible’s ride is fairly soft, and it gets out of sorts over rough pavement. That said, it is still surprising just how quiet the Mustang is. With its soft-top you’d think it would grumble much more going down the road, but even at freeway speed, noise levels in the cabin remains civilized.
As a cruiser, the V6 Mustang is okay. Yes, it does take some momentum to get up to speed. And the gearbox is nothing to brag about.
All of that said this remains one good-looking car whose profile is reminiscent of the original, only not in the cartoon-y, retro way. Its top operation is quick and easy; few things are more enjoyable than a late-evening summer ride with the top dropped.
