I bet someone has a nice 340 or 383 in that swinger now!
Unfortunately no, I sold it to a friend of mine in 1987 when I went active duty AF who got drunk one night, ran a red light and got t-boned by a Ford LTD wagon (no one was hurt, thankfully, but the Swinger was toast), so that car probably got recycled into a beer can shortly thereafter. Brentman,

How about SRT8 At 16, how sweet! My first car was a 70 torino w 351 cleveland motor,
second was a 1972 gran torino w 351 cleveland cobra jet. It had an automatic on column it would bark them everytime in second gear in drive, it had some power. Third car was a 73 cuda 340, 3sp. I'm still alive, so it can be done.

BTW: There must have been an issue, it is very hard to break 5.0 seconds.

2008 Challenger would be an SRT, right? Or is it a 2009 R/T?

In an SRT, maybe, but at 16, with (I can only assume) little driving experience, it seems unrealistic to get such a good 0 to 60 time. But maybe...

Then agan, you also say it was at a track...If the track was sprayed with a lot of VHT, that could make it more likely as traction (more specifically - lack of traction) is what kills the launch in these cars with big (370 to 425 stock, depending on what car this really is).

Also, if this is a 2008 SRT, are there any mods to it? bhud43 does not say the car is stock.

And some other things are questionable. bhud43 said his friend held the wheel while he took the picture and that the car was still moving. This leads us to think the picture was taken shortly after the time was recorded.

Later he says his mom was in the car at the time and it was at a track. Was the picture taken seperate from the 0-60 run? If it was a drag strip (does not say, only "track"), I don't know of any tracks that allows 2 passengers. And if it was a drag strip, how about just posting a timeslip for the full run?

I'm not saying 4.32 is not possible, just there are a lot of holes in the story so far.

I just got the 2008 dodge challenger for my 16th birthday, and it is remarkable. I do however have a concern. While i was testing out the 0-60 computer timer, it registered as a 4.32. I am just wondering if you think there is something wrong with this, or if its actually possible. The picture is blurry, because of the low light. Yes, the car is still moving. i took the picture because i was incredibly excited, while my friend controlled the wheel.

Mot, the kid has parents who buy him a Challenger for his 16th birthday present. He leads a charmed life. ANYTHING is possible. Such people can walk between raindrops and not get wet. You're trying to apply laws from a physical world to an enchanted one.

I wanted a GTO for my first car, but my father made me buy a 225 slant six Plymouth. He was afraid of me being an inexperienced driver and getting into trouble.

He was right. A few years later, I was street racing my brother's 383 Charger with my 340 'Cuda on a hot July afternoon. I had a 1/2 car length lead on him when he narrowly avoided a head-on with an oncoming car. By a stroke of luck, my engine vapor-locked and he was able to pass me and pull in front.

I learned a valuable lesson from this and only drag-raced at the track after that.

When I was 16, my twin sister and I had to SHARE a 1972 Chevy Nova - baby poo brown with cream vinyl interior. Yes the V8 was fast and if you didn't get the gas cap on right, you could slosh gas right out from behind the license plate. We wanted to be spoiled and thought we deserved sooooo much more. What brats!!

Now that I am older - the Challenger is incredible and beautiful and fast and.....the list could go on. It doesn't matter if you are with a friend or by yourself, the car begs to be driven. It is just like a friend trying to talk you into something you shouldn't be doing - the car is CRAZY FAST and demands respect. If the enchanted life of bhud includes a police relative, he may have it made.

Good luck and be safe - I can't believe he can afford the insurance - must be the enchanted world.

16 and a new Challenger? Congrats on the new ride, but be careful, it's a lot of car for someone with limited driving experience.
