Default The Super B

ok ive read in Hemmings Musle Machinces magazine that dodge is coming out with the super bee and from what ive read and what ive seen all it is is the 04 or 05 charger with the same interior same motor, the only thing that seperates the NEW super bee and the 04-05 charger is the paint, on the back will be the super bee sign, now if u ask me if u bring back a car as legondary as the super bee (which is over looked by the chager) you need more then an used design.

Just a small nit-picky thing I would like to point out before I respond. The Charger was first introduced as a 2006 model.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Super Bee is going to be basically a Charger SRT-8 with a different paint job, correct? Your right that it doesn't make sense to bring back a legendary trim as the Super Bee and make the only difference be a paint job. I have the same complaint about them using the Daytona badge for a fancier paint job than what the R/T Road and Track model offers.

I wish that if they would offer these classic models that they would offer something exclusive such as a manual perhaps or a higher output for the engine at least. They are just trying to get a few people that recognize the classic name to buy the car because of the legendary name. Granted years down the road, it will be worth a lot but it is just silly for right now.

That's what I thought. BTW, wasn't the Daytona a more special model than the Super Bee?

Originally, yes. The Daytona was the NASCAR variant of the Charger built to qualify it for track use.... 503 I believe were built. The original Super Bee came out in '68 as the Dodge equivalent to the Plymouth Road Runner.... an econo-hotrod from the factory. Big engine, good performance, and not much else. Sure has strayed from the original intent.

That is what I thought. They Daytona has strayed a lot more than the Super Bee. The original was for the Coronet vs. the Daytona was an exclusive NASCAR model.

That too. The Super Bee was already misused on the truck they called it the "Rumble Bee." Nice try, but no cigar.

I'm not sure. Maybe the name is a reference to the rumbling sound coming out of the exhaust system.
