I seem to remember that they have a phenomenal engine maybe one of the best around but that is like saying all I need is a good quarterback to win a football game.

You need a team and total package to win one of these.

the only good engine that toyota makes is the 2JZGTE...they should put THAT in the car...

I have lost interest in NASCAR because the cars the manufactures run are too much alike. They all use the same platform, they use the same engine size, the cars they run look nothing like the cars they are named after, etc. I think they need to go back and run the actual cars they sell, with the engines and transmissions they actually use. That would keep me interested. Toyota should only be allowed to use an engine they actually use in one of their vehicles. If I remember correctly, when Toyota intered into the truck series, GM, Ford, and Chrysler were forced to help them design a pushrod engine and got to copy off of each manufactures designs. They should have to either use a pushrod engine that they use outside of NASCAR as the Big Three was forced to do in the earily years or not be allowed at all. I don't like Toyota coming in like this.

So put the "STOCK" back into Stock car racing. I think that would be a good idea.

Precisely. You would have no idea how little difference there is in them anymore. I have a friend who works for Roger Penske and I got to see the inside of one of his factories near the Charolett track. The reason why Roger switched from Pontiac to Ford in the late 80s to earily 90s was the guy in charge of Pontiac (who Roger Penske liked) got fired and the Chevrolet guy was put incharge of both. Roger Penske didn't like the that guy so he switched to Ford. Rusty Wallace and other drivers complained and Roger said "you'll adjust." They did in no time. The reason why he switched to Dodge was DCX bought a large share of Detroit Diesel (a company Penske owns) and he decided to do more business with them. The drivers like Ryan Newman and again Rusty Wallace complained, and again he told them "you'll ajust," and again they did in no time. In other words there is practically no difference between any them. I asked what they did with the extra Ford's they built, they said they just removed the engines and the plastic cover and put in a Dodge engine and a Dodge styled cover. No difference in the platforms whatsoever. It is sad really.

Interesting how they are all the same but this has really become a spectator sport.....probably because of the drivers and their personalities.

I would prefer a car that look likes the originals and have their original parts and not all have the same platform.
