What's Your Wife's Take On A 08 Challenger

Came home today and my wife handed me the Dodge Challenger Posters, Sunset And Getting Air, then handed me an official Black, white and orange SRT Cool Plus Fiber Polo Shirt (www.driveSRT.com) A great looking shirt. I'm gonna get Challenger Embroided under SRT. I gave her a big kiss,of course. Now all I need is the challenger and a couple of dollars for gas.

Dude... shes a keeper:D Sounds like the kind of girl Ma would be proud of. Ma Mopar;) Gotta love it when the spouse gets involved and takes an active roll in your other love.(Challenger) She will have as much fun driving around in the Challenger as you will.:D

I agree this is awesome. My wife had us take a trip down to the local dealership so she could buy herself some Hemi Gear, getting the beige ball cap with the front saying, "that thing gotta Hemi?". Proud to be Mopar in our house!!:D:D

Kramtrah,

congrats, it makes it a lot easier when you and your spouse share interests. Its a lot of fun. Maybe we can all meet at a challenger or a mopar car show sometime.

we were thinking about trying to get an 08 model a while back, but she said (and i agreed) that she wants a manual transmission and hopefully one of these rumored larger engines...

Although she cares nothing about cars (except for getting from Point A to Point B), my wife is my biggest supporter when it comes to getting an '09 Challenger (we're both old enough to understand NOT throwing money away on an '08). Here's a pic of her from about 1989 in front of my '70 Challenger. When we get the '09, we'll go back to that house where we used to live and retake the pic of her. Believe me, she held up a LOT better than the '70 did. ;)

I have the luxury at this point to make it understood that the Challenger is going to stay as long as I'm around to anyone that I'm considering to date let alone marry. I like cars too much to end up with a person who hates muscle cars and wants me to drive a Prius. Cars are my only real hobby and I don't think would be asking too much considering that I'm not an alcoholic, gambler, hooked on any drugs (other than caffeine), etc. If anything, the Challenger will probably act as the foot in the door.

When I told my wife I would like to have a new Challenger she said, "Get it, you deserve it." I ordered it about an hour later. Let me tell you, it doesn't get any better than that!

My wife's on board. I work hard. Spend little. My biggest expenditure is Bowling. Then an occasional techno-treat, from time to time. So she's totally on board w/ this for next year.

We've got one kid going to college, pretty decent savings for that combined w/ the fact once she gets her teaching job next year or shortly there after, her income will go totally to their school...so it's all good up in the hood ah-ight.

My biggest dilemma, recently arrived, is now SRT or RT.

This wife is down w/ either, now I've got some cogitating to do!

Don't have a wife. (thank goodness i still have some freedom for a couple years);)
My dad had an old '72 with a real dark green w/ vinyl top and a gold strip along the side.
here's a link to the pic.

I'm glad that it seems that most of our Challenger fans have a wife that gets it. I hope I'm that lucky when I get a wife. The Challenger will be part of the package that it must stay in broken downness, and in reliability, whether costly or inexpensive fuel costs, till accident or death does us part.

When you find the right woman, you'll have more freedom than when you were alone, Bud.
Been through a bad marriage, and now have the best. She wants me to have the Challenger more than I want it myself.
THAT'S a loving wife!

It is good to see everybodies wife support their Challenger passion. I used to date my wife in a Challenger "back in the day" and I look forward to doing it again.

You were a lucky one to have one back in the day. I'm glad my wife didn't know me then as my not so hot Plymouth Horizon TC3 wasn't a go getter. :D:D Well, now I'm with her and were gonna have our Sublime SRT to take a date, or two, or three, and many more in.

Well at least you know she loved you because of you and not because of the car, and that is worth more than any car we can buy.

I'll certainly trust my wife's judgment behind the wheel of my new Challenger more than my own!

I'm much more likely to end up.....

The woman I marry will probably be one of the very few I will let drive my Challenger. If I want her to understand the car, she has to experience it as well.

BootCamp's joke: LOL! That might lead to having to sleep on the couch for a year.;)

My wife told me NO to the Hennessey 725hp upgrade. Didn't think she would agree, but I had to feel her out. I hope 425 hp is enough. You know once you feel it you will always want more, horsepower, get your mind out of the gutter. I'm ready to rock May with the challenger .... I hope anyway. If it turns out to be June or later I'm not sure what I will do
I'm worse than a kid on Christmas Eve. It's a crying shame.

I'm the same way. Every time I watch a video and see it in action I can hardly contain myself. I'm just waiting for some reliable info on the start up.

Paladin06, I'm glad to hear that. You are a lucky man.

70sguy, Well she might have said no to the Hennessey 725 upgrade, but how about other more mild upgrades. You could use a different air intake, different exhaust, and other changes. Who said it had to stay at 425hp?

70sguy, your wife is a wise lady. I really don't think you want to get involved with the Hen. His business practices are poor and sometimes the final products at not as reliable even though he has some are great products. His track record is not consistent enough for me.

I'm glad to hear that.

What Jeremiah said is true, Hennessey's track record hasn't been very good unfortunately. See if you can't find someone with a better track record.

They can have it once I'm used as fertilizer to the grass and flowers around my grave, but as long as I'm alive, I'm saying no for right now, but you know for sure.

Actually, if everyone with kids is smart, they'll sit back and let their kid eventually buy the car. When I got my '70 Challenger in '74, my old man was constantly borrowing it and leaving me with his '70 Maverick. Somehow, that reversal of roles never seemed quite right to me. :D
