at one of my other forums, a guy has a blown C5 Z06...and one of his friends got a new Z06, and it has already been on the dyno to prove those hp numbers to be low...

it has also been shown that the LS7 responds very well to simple mods...the one simple mods setup ive seen was header-back exhaust, a TB, and a tune, and it was up over 600hp.

 

Yes, that Corvette is one bad car. About 18 months ago I had considered it as I read more about it until I found out how expensive it was.

 

The Corvette hasn't been the same car as it was originally since the 80s. Personally I think it is better. The Corvette is not a supercar in my book, just a supercar fighter and is cheaper as a result.

 

The GT500 will beat the standard Corvette hands down, but it won't be able to touch the Z06. The GT500 is just too much of a pig at ~4000lbs to give the Z06 much competition...

 

from the reviews that i have read, the GT500 may not be much faster than a terminator...and if that is the case, it isnt even a SURE win versus a stock M6 C6.

 

The current Issue of Motor Trend puts the GT500 against a regular Corvette. The Corvette beat it in almost every catagory. So the Z06 would blow the GT500 out of the water.

 

Those guys can't drive. You ought to see all the discussions about this on the Ford (Mustang) boards...

 

i dont know...im pretty active on a BIG mustang forum, and the crowd seems to go both ways...you have some people who are just impressed by the fact that it has 500hp, but at the same time you have people who are pissed off that its not much faster than your car.

 

Motor Trend just showed us that the GT500 won't even beat a base model Corvette. So there is no prayer it will stand a chance against a Z06.

 

yep...the ford boys are saying "well wait until you do this and this"..but thats true for any car.
