Darlington this weekend
Dodge Challenger 500 at Darlington is this weekend. I checked the SPEED TV website for broadcast times. No report yet if there will be a Challenger Pace Car. The pre race starts on Saturday 5/10 at 4:00pm till 7;00. There are some prelim and analysis shows on today (Fri 5/9).
The race itself, live on Fox sports TV starts at 7:00 pm Saturday Steve |
RE: Darlington this weekend
Nice place to run the Challenger 500. The lady in black as its called. I'll be watchimg that race and will be pulling for the pace car:D They should let Richard Petty drive the pace Challenger. That would be fitting.

RE: Darlington this weekend
Or at least can turn left! ;)
As for Petty, how cool would that be to have 43 on the sign and have it retro'd out like DW's Mountain Dew car a month ago. Of coure it'd be a Challenger w/ all the '70 sponsors.....something like this ......but maybe throw a cuda kit on it (to make it plymouth) w/ a SuperBird treatment! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:R...Roadrunner.jpg |

pace car 1971 Indy
white Vanishing Point Road of America Darlington? Steve |
RE: Darlington this weekend
Didnt the pace car in 71 crash in the pits??? we dont want that.
Steve I just relooked at your post are you predicting a crash ? |
RE: Darlington this weekend
I hope i can get it HD.
one of the few car racing events i might tolerate, besides drag racing. |
RE: Darlington this weekend
I have high hopes and great expectations that the jinx will be broken. Yes, the 1971 Challenger Indy Pace Car (driven by a celebrity and not a pro) crashed into the pit road wall coming in after the final pace lap, just before green flag. We know here the posts about the Road of America white Challenger etc...

RE: Darlington this weekend
I saw it too, in the background behind the crowd and commentators. "Go or go Home" coverage.
