Quite a shock- he was a talented guy who made a big impact on the American automotive scene. RIP, Boyd.

While it's always sad to see someone pass on, I guess I'm not surprised. He constantly set incredibly difficult (almost unrealistic) deadlines for his employees to meet. The stress he put on his guys and himself was extreme. He went through a number of very talented craftsmen because of the frenetic pace and overtime demands he placed on them. I'm actually a little surprised he kept so many for so long.
It was probably a massive M I that did him in.

Chip Foose worked under him for a while. It is said to see him go.

Sad to see him go.. he had some great ideas and he had his faults, we all do.
DK: He died from complications during a surgery he had. With him being a diabetic that didn't him either.
