The high-performance G8 GXP, packing a 6.2-liter LS3 small-block V8 rated at 402 hp and 402 lb-ft of torque. Pontiac confirmed at the recent New York auto show that the GXP will join the lineup in late 2008 as a 2009 model.

 

If they come out with the coupe version it'll be my second choice.

It just took a look at it for the first time .I dont see any competition personaly for the challenger they look nothing alike . I personaly am buying the challenger because its a challenger and looks like the old challenger not because its the best money to spend in its class .If I just wanted something cool i would by the new C class mercedes 451 hp and one bad machine .I bought a challenger because its the coolest retro car ever built today in my opion .

 

Well, the fact of the matter is that the only site that has claimed that last time I looked was Edmunds with the SRT still leading the GT in performance and the fact of the matter is the other automotive press outlets results show the SRT being significantly faster than that. On top of this, MT's test between the Charger R/T and the G8 GT was in all truth pretty close. Now having said this, I have a lot of respect for the G8 and I'm glad GM is going to make it.

 

So which is faster? The Charger SRT or the SRT 300c?
Next so the GTO is faster than the G8 but slower than the SRT sedans? Is it very comparable to the SRT's? Or would you say its a little faster? Or a little slower?

 

a guy from my mustang site has a 100% stock auto ls2 gto...he ran 13.50s last week. the 6.1L sedans, when well driven, have gotten into the high 12s...but in stock form, they seem to stay in the 13.30 range...

 

So Mirada my really big question is, if I bought an R/T and did basic upgrades like induction and exhuast maybe a new fan. Do you think I could match a Stock SRT in the quarter-mile?
Assuming the R/T has the 380hp HEMI in the Ram coming this fall.

 

a new fan? what good is that going to do?

 

i've seen packages like the viscious fan claim another 10hp. So what about if I did cold-air induction a new chip and say some flowmaster super 44's. Do you think that could match an SRT?
