Default spare tire (aftermarket)

hi, just wondering if anyone has bought any kind of aftermarket spare tire kit for their new Challenger ? i saw one on ebay for about $450 , the ad says that it fits the srt8 perfectly, no issues, etc and fits perfectly inside the car's spare tire compartment in the trunk . maybe someone knows if there is another similar reliable product on the market anywhere ? (that hopefully costs a little less too) thanks

I'm guessing they mean that it will fit, after you remove the air pump/storage tray, as the open area of the factory tray is only about 18" across. Luckly the tray is removable, but I would add a "wall/barrier" next to the battery to protect it from any movement of a spare tire. Just a thought.

For R/Ts and 6 cylinder Challengers, look for used Charger spare set-ups. Exact replacement as the trunk of the Challenger, Charger and Chrysler are all the same.

I for one think leaving a spare out of these cars was purely stupid on Chryslers part. They have raised the price on the car how many times since its start. I'm sure that mostly all the owners on this site and future owners would gladdy pay the $100 extra option cost to have a spare in their car instead of a pump that will do nothing if you get a nice gash in the tire. Smarten up Chrysler next time you jack the prices put in an extra $100 bucks and include a spare even if it is a donut you'll make many a Challenger Owner VERY HAPPY !!!!!!!

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. I guess that would be one way of getting a spare .
