Spare donut tire
Does anybody actually have the spare tire for their Challenger? I told the salesman when I ordered the car that I wanted one. He eventually told me he couldn't order one because the SE didn't offer them, but that he'd order a donut spare separately. Two weeks after I get the car, he now tells me that while he can order the wheel for the donut spare, no manufacturers yet are making the required-size tire. Has anyone else encountered this?

RE: Spare donut tire
Just went through this with my dealer. He ordered me me a compact spare and it came with no tire. The tires are back-ordered but he found a dealer in louisiana with 8 of them. They are $170.00 each and the wheel was $84.00.I had a tire store order an alumuinum wheel and will be there tomorrow.I have 18 in. wheels and got a 17 and made up the difference in diamater with the tire. This way I can drive on it until I get a chance to fix the tire.We will be driving alot of freeway miles as we live in Mi. and drive monthly to our place down near the Gulf.If interested,I will post the results tomorrow...........JB.

RE: Spare donut tire
Right now, I'm thinking of just getting a full-size spare. I can get a full-size tire/wheel (the wheel normally goes on a Chrysler 300 and they're going to make sure it works OK) for about $180 at Discount Tires. Oh. Of course, I have to get a jack. And a lug wrench.

RE: Spare donut tire
I ordered the compact spare and it came with the car, if that is the question that was asked. I believe that the cost was $100. It is a temporary convenience spare. The lettering on the side says T145/80D 18. Since I have the 20 inch wheel option, I don't know how practical an 18 inch spare is. I too wish it were a regular spare, but that was not offered.

Yeah, I'm a Harley rider but I have to admit, the Valkyrie was one of the best rides ever made. I'm sorry that Honda dropped it as a touring alternatve.
