Torq-Thrust II
 

Seeing how this will be the first post, I thought I might have something to share here.
When I bought my Challenger one of the attractions was the set of stock style rims that the car came with. The down side was that they were only 14" and about as wide as a bicycle tire, which made traction difficult at times. Not that my car is a race car, but it could easily brak the tires free, even squaking with a hard shift into third.

Well I left that set of tires on for about 3 years when I finaly picked up a anil in one of them and even after a plug would still leak a little. Then worse yet ( this is realy stupid ) after doing a brake job I rotated the tires, moving the pluged tire to the rear. Luckily I was near home one evening, did a hard shift from 1st to 2nd, squaked the tires and it pulled the plug out. So, I figured it was time for some new tires. While I was at it wanted a bigger wheel combo too. I first saw the Torq-Thrust II's at a car show the year previous, and just thought they were killer.

They look sharp but I really love the old ralleye rims. You don't know how bad you're pics are making me want my '73 340 back! Check out the Magnum Force look alike Ralleyes posted in Dodge Challenger discussions by 2007HEMICUDA!

Yeah, I've seen those in some of the Mopar mags.
I kept the Raylle rims, easy to store them as opposed to selling them and then trying to buy back.

While the older wheels are very traditional, I do like the new ones and they really stand out and shine. Great idea on keeping the originals.

I know it's red but it certainly looks like the Pink Panther color. Very, very, nice car! Congratulations on owning an original.

as aftermarket rims on muscle cars go, i like that look that you have there..one thing that i HATE is this new trend of MASSIVE new rims on a muscle car....yours looks good..and seeing that the style of rim that you got has been around, it wouldnt surprise me to see a set of rims like that on a challenger back in the 70s...

that being said, i am also a rallye wheel fan.

Both look AWESOME! I love the originals, but as you said, the size is the problem. They need to hold wider meats!

I was just about to buy some of those rims, but I cant decide between the polished or the grey. I will be buying BFG TA's also. My question is, what size tires and rims are you running on your car? What is the backspacing? I was thinking about a 235/60/15 (15x7) on the front, with 265/60/15(15x8) on the rears. I want to make sure my rears dont rub my fender well lips. You're help and advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, sorry, it is on a 71 Challenger. Just want to get an idea of what backspacing is ideal, and also tire size.
