Default Hemi Engine

Hi guys! Where is the 1 position on the distributer cap on a 1970 426 Hemi engine?

Put your #1 cylinder on top dead center, then pop the distributor cap and see which position your rotor is pointing at. That's number 1.

It can be on top dead center on the exhaust stroke also. Haven't worked on the newer engine's . But the older engine's . Just un screw a spark plug and listen for the air comeing out . or have a screw in compression gage. Normally the timing mark will be close to zero or just before. When it come's up.
