Default Trouble w/2nd Gear

I have been driving my new R/T for the past 3 weeks (6 speed transmission) and occasionally have an issue with moving into 2nd gear from 1st. It won't smoothly go to 2nd and I have to almost force it into gear. It does not happen when I downshift from 3rd to 2nd. Has anyone else experienced this issue. I love the car, but want to get this corrected. I don't think it's operator error

The tranny has a 1 to 4 econmy shift. If you shuft at a certain speed it locks out 2nd gear. Check you manual for the exact parameters.
Hopefully the programmers will have a block on this option. It is no fun.

Thanks much. Will check the manual. When I mentioned it to a service guy at the Dodge Dealer you would have thought he would be familiar with the issue.

Check some other threads here. There is an inexpensive and simple mod that disables the skip shift feature.

The dealers around here are not familar with much on the new Challenger, I spend alot of time wait for them to do the research on issue I've had so far.

You need the part from Speed.inc . A short harness that elimantes the block to 2nd gear on a up shift. In another section mot250 tells of it and even has a picture showing everything. I ordered it and put on my 6speed R/T yesterday . Now I'm happy . Total cost including shipping is $28.18 . This harness is used on the Corvette also . But same trans as we have and the Viper.

You guys will love the skip shift elimiator. Really simple to install. It will take you longer to get the car in a position to install it than to actually install the harness.

My advice, find a lift. It will give you more room to move under the car to access where it plugs into the factory harness.
