Default It s Been A Nice Run

I believe my luck has spilleth out onto the pavement this week. Tuesday heading to lunch / preconstruction meeting I was clocked doing 60 mph in a 45 mph speed limit. The nice police officer gave me a break for the Christams Holidays with only a ticket for 9 miles over said it would save me a $100. I told him thank you and that a warning would have been a better present. The bad part is that I was disappointed that my autograph was requested while driving the Sporttrac not hte Challenger. Well today my wish came true, yep, I got another speeding ticket doing 60 in a 45 on another road. Unbelieveably, this nice police officer said he was giving me a break for doing only 9 mph over as well. I have never done anything close to that in 35 years of driving. I'm sure my insurance company will be monetarily understanding as well. So guess what I'm getting for Christmas?

In Georgia, tickets for 10 and over the posted limit the money goes to the state. For 9 and under the money goes to the locals. I bet both cops were locals and not staties... Oh yeah, the insurance co doesn't give a crap. They get you for all they can either way.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell the guys at work when they're giving someone a hard time about "screwing up"....

You know the funny thing, about seven years ago this month, I went down south for a concert, got autographs, awesome night. I come back about 1:00 in the morning and hit the city border, of a place I knew better then to speed in and ended up getting a ticket going 105 in a 65. Glad he didn't catch me going 115. I told the judge I was being an idiot and he let me off easy on that one, thankfully. The sad part is that it was in a Dakota. I haven't gone that fast since.

Since having my Mustang, I haven't gotten a speeding ticket. I upset a cop and got a ticket for reckless driving, he was doing 40 in a 30, pi**ed me off, and I ended up breaking the back end and fishtailing. I got a "speeding" ticket in a school zone, but I don't count that because there was no flashing lights, I'm sure they don't put them up so they can make more money as many cars were pulled over, and just before Christmas, so I made the assumption that school was not in that day and did the normal speed. Lastly, some idiot decided to run me off the road, raised my insurance even though he was found at fault by my insurance company because the amount they paid out.

So the moral of the story, don't get a truck, they get you speeding tickets while a sports car will get you in other trouble. Wait...something wrong with that.

A friend of mine - NY State Trooper - was admiring my Challenger a few days back. He smiled and asked how fast I'd had it up to.....
I smiled and said "55". He laughed and said, "No, really, how fast have you had it going?"
I smiled and said "55".

I don't think he believed me.........

It certainly sounds like you've run into a lot of luck. Being that I don't want my rates to go up and I don't want to be the first between myself and my brother to get a ticket, I actually follow the speed limit or only do 5 over if I speed. It is rare when I go any faster.
