RE: How many have heard
It doesnt help that the car has very little badging on it. Even the 70s Challengers had more nameplates on the fenders and rear. I ve heard the Mustang comment sooo many times now. I don't mind explaining the heritage of the Challenger and the fact its a DODGE not a Ford. I had several 70s Challengers and always found myself explaining how its NOT a 69 Camaro. I would like to find an old pentastar to put on my passenger fender, that would really throw people off. I can t believe how many people dont even associate HEMIs with Dodge. It is surely a mistake not to market this car as every new Mustang owner I ve come across said they would have waited to buy a Challenger if they only knew they were coming out. Even the owners of many new Chargers didn t know they were out. Hopefully Dodge will see the error of their ways and atleast make a few commercials or something. I would like to see a commercial open with older Challengers "performing" say a 70 T/A road racing or a nice R/T Drag racing and then show the newer Challengers doing the same. I would DVR that ad and play it over and over again!

You want a Pentastar fender badge? Follow this link. It's right at the top.

As to badging in general, I have side stripes with the word Challenger in script letters that are about 3 inches high. People will look right at the word and call it a Charger. Or Mustang. Or Camaro. You can't win. [&:]

Speaking of emblems, I forgot: I put my script Challenger badge on the grille and eliminated the modern one. Note how the badge is now in the proper 1970 position.

RE: How many have heard
I wish there was more visable badging on the rear. I had something funny happen the other day. I was taking a long almost full circle ramp behind a Ford pickup truck that was almost on the side walls of his tires at 45 mph. Which was nothing in the Challenger R/T . Think I was in third gear . I saw a older Camero coming on to the ramp behind me going as fast as he could. Had hugh rear open box on his hood scoop on his hood. I got around the truck after getting off the ramp and on to the interstate . This Camero was cutting in and out of traffic to catch up to me . He finally did. I guess HEMI RT on my lic. plate was all he needed to see. And he backed way off and then into another lane. A lot of older people know what the car is . And have read something about it. I have had it called a Charger two door a few time's also. I don't mind correcting them .

Most people who comment on the car are being positive so their intentions are good even if they call it something else. So from that perspective how could anyone be insulted. I just do what we all do & educate them. Once they know its a Challenger they will remember.
The point about the advertising being non-existent is soooooooo true. Whoever this holding company is they need to get off there tails & market the company. I know when things like bailouts & such are going on they need to cut back here & there but you cant ignore advertising. Look at Geico...if i see another geico commercial im going to scream! Tell me that Geico's commercials havent garnered them some big business. If Chrysler used 50% of the advertising that geico did they would be selling a lot more cars & trucks.

I just went to the grocery store, and as I was pulling in, an SRT Charger pulled in directly in front of me. As we got out, the woman driving the Charger asked, "Is that the new Charger?" [&:]
