Thanks Mot250 for the picture of the skip shift. . That is a must have. I asked the service guy at the dealer I purchased my car from about if the HSA could be turned off. He said no. And no adjustment . I love the feel the 6 speed gives in driving the car. And the sound of the exhaust sold me on the car.

Nope, it doesn't cause any codes to be thrown. But you will still see the "suggestion" to skip from 1st to 4th on the in-dash info center. Just ignore it, however, since the solenoid will not be activated.

Do you have the optional EVIC electronics group (buttons on the steering wheel for radio, temperature/compass and user settings? If so, you can turn off the HSA with the user settings.

I heard there is a way to disable it if you don't have the EVIC package and that those instructions may be in the owner's manual but I have not looked for it in the owner's manual.

I don't have it yet, but yes, I believe it is in the manual. I read that somewhere else.

Strike that. I found the manual online. I swear, the things that you have to do to deactivate or reactivate something on these cars is crazy. Hop on one foot while turning the car on and having someone else push the clutch 2" in and press the gas and brake at the same time.

Anyway, the EVIC system works different, but it looks like you have to almost do all of the above for it to work if you don't have the EVIC system. (Joke of course, but not to far off.) The real procedure is on page 284 in the owners manual, and I have included it below.

Disabling HSA.

For vehicles without EVIC system.

NOTE: You must complete steps 1 through 8 within 90 seconds.

1. Center the steering wheel (front wheels pointing straight forward).

2. Shift the transmission into NEUTRAL.

3. Apply the parking brake.

4. Start the engine.

5. Release the clutch pedal.

6. Rotate the steering wheel one-half turn to the left.

7. Press the ESP OFF (located in the lower switch bank below the climate controls) four times within 20 seconds. The ESP/TCS Indicator Light should turn on and turn off two times.

8. Rotate the steering wheel back to center and then an additional half-turn to the right.

9. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and then back to the ON position. If the sequence was completed properly, the ESP/TCS Indicator Light will blink several times to confirm HSA is disabled.

10. Repeat these steps if you want to return this feature to it's previous setting.

No my R/T doesn't have the button's on steering wheel . I sort of miss that as our 300C ( Black 2006 ) has all that and every other option you could get. The dealer I got it from had just got the first truck load of 6 speed R/T's . And had mine in the show room. It did have the 20's , upgrade CD with 368 watt amp and few other option's I wanted such as leather . And no sun roof that I didn't want . So I purchased it. Got e-mail the skip shift part has already been shipped. Thanks a bunch for finding this part and the picture. I asked about the HSA . But was told I couldn't disable it. But that is more than likely standard line from the service manager. Really glad I found this forum. I've had several muscle car's . But more Mopar's than anything else. If you notice some thing's repeat in my writing . Like more than one letter or something. I have a finger that is sticking on me . And have to pull it open sometime . Need to get it operated on . Trigger finger I think .

I put the skip shift harness ( approx 5 inch length ) from Speed.inc on my 09 6 speed R/T today. With the use of a lift at a Muffler shop that a bunch of us old car guy's hang out at. Better than getting my floor jacks out and crawing under the car. And my friend Clyde that helped unplug the factory harness . It is a tight fit for my big right hand between the trans and tunnel . I tore that hand up in a wreck on my Harley several years ago. But between us we got the skip shift harness plugged up . And never had a problem with it trying to block the 2nd gear shift on the way back home. Glen , The guy who owns the muffler shop stopped working on a customer car on one of the other two lifts. And had to have a look at the underside of the Challenger. He gave it a big thumb's up on everything he saw . And was really impressed . He run's a 65 Chevy II in some NHRA Class that run's in low 6 sec in 1/8 mile . He is also a Dodge Fan and pull's his race car trailer with a Dodge Truck. Can't thank mot250 enough to posting the picture and information about this item from Speed.inc. My order sheet did say 09 Dodge. I guess Corvette use this trans besides the Viper from the pictures in the paperwork. Wishing all a Merry Christmas.

I decided to call Speed Inc to ask about the GM part reference number on the package . And was told that it was the same part for our 6 speed in Challenger R/T as the Corvette. Now everyone can order a stocking stuffer for Christmas. Total cost with shipping was $28.19 .
