Around a 1000 bucks a year on the challenger they told me .Insurance on my gt500 was around 1200 a year .IM 35

I looked this up with my agent (State Farm) about a month ago. He said it would run about (if I remember correctly) $890 a year.
They are really proud of it, they must think I'm a bad driver or something.

KrisSullivan, I think you underestimate the huge difference age makes in insurance. I can't speak for where you live, your driving history or other factors but I'm 22 and I'm paying what most these people are in 6 months, not a year. And that's for a 4 cylinder econo car with a completely clean driving record not to mention I'm still on a family discount plan.

I'm anticipating paying $200 a month if I get a V6 and probably $250 or more for an r/t. I'm not sure how big a difference the engine actually makes though. . .

$890 a year would be excellent for a Challenger. I'm over 25 with a clean record, and am paying $650 per year on my old (93) BMW that can't be worth over 6K. If I could get coverage for a brand new R/T at that price I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Yeah im not sure that's why im asking. I don't anticipate to pay much more for the R/T than Im paying for my truck which has a Hemi in it. I know it's a car so it technically isn't as safe but I just got re-quoted and im only paying 190 a month for the Ram with full coverage. So with the R/T in about another year and another re-quote Im really not thinking it's going to be any more than about 225. Shoot if I keep my truck for another year It'll probably only be about 150 a month.
Ohh yeah you don't have to mention about under-estimating, when I bought it brand new 5 years ago the Hemi Ram cost my 18 year old but like 280$ I believe a month. Almost a car payment itself. Ohh yeah Im on my own Insurance plan too. And what I've learned from that is im not going to drive my moms car so I don't have to pay to be on her plan and she doesn't have to pay to be on mine. It can be cheaper than a family plan when you shop around brother. I've had about 5 different insurance companies in 5 years. Someone will always give it too you cheaper.

I'd imagine a 2 door coupe will always be more than a truck but I'm not entirely sure, I've never had a truck.

Called about insurance today. Quoted me $406.39 for 6 months with full coverage and low deductibles... $812.78 a year. That's a whoppin' $67.73 per month. I think I can live with that but I am kinda curious though why the Neon is only $10/year less...
