MMT in Gasoline in Challengers is a NO NO !
Read page 271 of your owners manual concerning gasoline blended with MMT, it is very detrimental to our engines. I asked several gas station owners if they have MMT in their gas....Shell, Exxon, Chevron etc. I COULD NOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER FROM THE OWNERS. Check the following link....http://www.edf.org/article.cfm?contentID=1159 Does anyone know any chemist that works in the oil refinery business ??

I use a small amout of the Lucas Oil octane boost in every tank full (1/3 of a bottle). As close as I can figure my mix puts me at about 96-97 octane.

MMT is one of the chemicals blended into the refinery process converting oil into gasoline. The majority of gas stations in Canada use MMT. COPY AND PASTE this article http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/020821.htm

andre
wait why octane boost??
i thought you want high octane for high compression slower burning?
whats good with our engines, are they high compression? I figured they weren't cause they were NA but I'm sure I'm wrong now.
i read countless article too that octane boost does nothing.

Your right, Octane boost is a waste of money on these engines, Unless, you have retuned, meaning, added more timing to take advantage of the higher octane tolerance.

Trev,
The best I can do in Southern cali is the 91 octane. I am tuned for 93+ and timing is bumped.
I dont have anything in front of me to verify, but I believe we have a compression ratio of 10.3-1
I would not run it in my 5.7 hemi at 9.6-1, but I only run it at 90 octane.

I talked with a Joe Sopata from the EPA today, a very enlighting conversation. Joe mentioned that ONLY oil refineries in the Rocky Mountain region puts MMT into their pump gas. The rest of the USA does not have any MMT in the pump gas. So NO DAMAGE to our emissions, O2 sensor or catalytic converter plus NO spark plugs fouling. VERY GOOD NEWS !!!!! He broke down the difference between the refiners and the distillers, as to which additives are put into the gas by the various oil companies. Texaco is different than Exxon, versus Chevron is different from Hess. BUT if Texaco has a limited supply of 91 octane fuel, Exxon will buy from a Texaco refinery and put the Texaco gas into the ground tanks at a Exxon gas station. So after all is said and done, " Joe says," all gas is the same from one gas station to another gas station." Most gas pumps have labels on them stating the same RON http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/fuels/a...e/mmt_cmts.htm
