RE: R/T Fans Rejoice!
So tell us: just what IS a "true" Hemi? 2 4-barrel carbs? An extremely finicky temperment? Something that doesn't stay in proper tune for more than a month without constant care and maintenance? Something that gets 8 MPG (on a good day)? Something that would nearly be impossible to use as a daily driver? Something that constantly leaks oil?
It's easy to get caught up in the original 426 Hemi legend (and the other smaller ones, the 331, 392, etc)... but truth be told, there's no way any one of those Hemis would hold a candle to the 6.1 as far as driveability, gas mileage, overall liveability factor... and outright power.
So for those that dog the new Hemis for not being "real" Hemis, all I have to say to that is... THANK GOD!

RE: R/T Fans Rejoice!
Took delivery of my 09 R/T 6 speed all options black with silver hood to fender stripes last Wed.
As I type this at 253 miles:
-Billet Technoligies oil catch can, HEMI hood badge-installed
-custombrakelights.com CHALLENGER lens in transit
I am coming to the conclusion that the Chyrsler engineers have done a sterling job, in light of the fact
a Challenger is just a tried and ture 300C chasis electronics drivetrain and electonics clone with different sheet metal.
Exhaust tone is mellow as well as deliously evil. No suitcase muffler, nice solo and small mufflers. I plan no changes.
No other changes seem to be of any value.......
This is a bad boy black beast.
Thrilled is an understatement.............
