Well it's as close to a HEMI as we can get... so it isn't that bad...
Some GM guys would say it resembles an LS platform, I think there just jealous of the effieceny... 6.2= 400-425... 6.1= an easy 425...
I'd just like to see them re-tune the 6.1 and maybe make MDS available, to see something like what they did with the 5.7... 6.1 with 475hp??? Ewww, that's nasty nobody could hate on that...

Don't besmearch the K cars. They saved Chrysler when it was in severe financial straits. Too bad the company didn't have something like them waiting in the wings for right now. There probably wouldn't be any talk of a merger or the corporation getting chopped up and sold.
My family actually had 2 of those (and one of those was even a wagon...), I know the K cars quite well, driven them quite a bit. While they were absolutely miserable cars, I will, however, give them their proper due in the role they played in saving Chrysler's bacon back in the early 80s. And, to be fair, the equivalent Ford and GM compacts at the time, the Tempo/Topaz and the Citations and such were equally as crappy as the K cars.

rudy cuz they really arent hemis lol.
No Kevin, the new engines ones aren't real Hemis. The new ones are much, MUCH better than the original Hemis, as I'm sure anyone who has one will wholeheartedly agree.

Interestingly, I traded in an 89 Tempo I'd inherited when I got the Challenger. The Tempo was absolutely the worst piece of junk ever made. I don't think ANY car was that bad.

K-Car with a stick. Ahhh..memories.
The K cars our company had were great.
30+mpg and 200k miles.
They were all wagons.
Now the automatics...LOL,"couldn't pull a sick whore off the piss pot" as Dad put it.

Why would someone with a 6.1 425horse Hemi Challenger want to run on 4 cylinders?

People with 6.1 = Gas not a concern ... I would for one be mad if my car was running on 4 , it's a BIG AMERICAN V8 not a hybrid cylinder !

rudy if it helps the car stay alive longer due to cafe standards then I am all for it, why not have 430 hp and a fuel efficient v8 at the same time....gm has done it with the ls3 why cant chrysler?

Actually, even the original Hemi's were not 100% true Hemi's, but they were very close....a lot more so than today's Hemi....But, that is not a bad thing...as we are getting all the benefits of a "Hemi" engine without the drawbacks.....

BLK I never said they were bad.....there is a reason why the new hemis arent full hemis....they give out tons of hp with more fuel efficiency ...and dont need to be constantly tuned.

trust me I am the first to say the new ones are better than the old.

so please let's not start a kevin hates semi hemi thread lol

I cant wait to get my challenger so you guys can respect me
