Fitz, i think many of us feel your pain! I ordered my car in June also, and can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. My car has actually made it to the holding facility in New York. I was so excited i could hardly sleep last night. I actually cancelled my car twice, and was within hours of picking up my deposit check, but the same day my car went to D1, so i held on. Many factors seem to be delaying "sold orders". One, chrysler made the decision to pump out a bunch of SE's so get sales going in 2009. Two, the 6 speed cars went thru a rear axle redesign. Three, your dealer's allocation has ALOT to do with it as well.
I feel your pain, but i can't believe you don't have a VIN by now...

Wont even go into the details on how long my Dodge dealer has had my order for the 08 that they never made for me or delivered.
My first 09 SRT 6 speed has been on official order May 16, 2008 and is still in D.
Where the F@!$ is my car???
I still have zero Challengers out of three that I have ordered - I only want 1.

There is a 6 speed SRT at Allen Samuels dodge here in Austin and they are selling it at sticker, I think it was $45,125.
There is also 2 6 speed R/T's at North Star Dodge in San Antonio and one in Houston at Allen Samuels.

flyingfitz, please try and listen to us on here who have experienced the same thing as you. Many members on here know of the many RANTS I posted about my year long search and failure to buy, place a deposit on , or get a dealer to write an order for a 2008 SRT 8 , or a 2009 R/T . Finally after searching the country wide from home here in NJ to as far as Florida, New Orleans, St Loius, Detroit, Penna, and New York areas, I finally got a local dealer to place an order on May 15th of this year. That order remained in BX status for almost 3 months. I was afraid I was never going to get any Challenger. Then it went to D status where it was stuck for another 2 months. The dealer finally gave me a Vin no. and around the 1st week in Sept it started to move to I status and then about 2 weeks later it moved quite quickly on thru delivery to the states then to my local rail yard and finally on the 26 th of Sept to my dealer and me. All that time I to had a check in my hand for $35,000 .
Now ,why I'm asking you to hold on a little longer is , I also was at the point of cancelling my order and now I'm so glad I didn't because My R/T is such an awesome car which is better so far than any other new car I've owned including a C-6 Corvette, and It gives me an awesome feeling along with a big grin that makes the total frustration and long agonizing wait well worth every minute. So unless for some compelling reason you have to give it up, PLEASE keep the faith that it will come eventually and I promise you you will be so glad you did!!!! Mine went to I status on the 22nd of september and still hasnt made it to KZ status. I guess I'll have to fly home in shame and get another round trip ticket.

My SRT order June 23rd & still in BX status.If you would like a suicide pact count me in.What do we have to do to get a Challenger???I order one the 1st day the bank order was open,go visit dealer every week,call customer service every week.It is shocking to see other customer getting their car before us,what is the trick????

We have all worked very hard together to try to keep focused on the issue at hand... the Challenger. We have been a quasi support group to one another to help keep the focus on... the Challenger. We have tried to encourage each other to hold the course and keep our sights on the target... the Challenger. And in the end, the ONE thing I can tell you with 100% accuracy is that there is not a member here who after receiving thier Challenger wouldn"t say...
WOW... THE CAR IS MORE THAN I EVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED... DON"T ANYBODY GIVE UP... IT IS SO WORTH THE WAIT!!!
If this car has a fraction of the interest it had with me STICK IT OUT!!
IT IS DEFINATELY WORTH THE WAIT!! NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!
Good Luck... and by all means keep us posted. Feel free to whine, snivel and vent as much as you want... JUST DON"T GIVE UP!

It is dissapointing knowing that it will leave the state on monday, but I feel good about it. Im acutally over in Tacoma, and at the dealership they are going to put a full flowmaster exhaust on it with super 44s, a mopar CAI, and I plan on getting the T/A hood, painting the spoiler black, having the classic "challenger T/A" decal placed on it, and I already sent over the ridergraphix "T/A" side stripes. Now if I could just get around putting the exhaust under the fuel tanks.

but I am a little confused about the comment "Now if I could just get around putting the exhaust under the fuel tanks"Shouldn"t they be running the exhaust around the fuel tank...
