80's mitsus (conquest/starion), I always liked'em too. I can see what you're talking about with the lowers, they're engineered to handle so much from a power stroke and when you cram 10 lbs of fuel into the proverbial 5 lb sack, I can see where that would cause the lowers to fail prematurely.
