MAGNUM, 300, CHARGER V6 SUPERCHARGER 2007-06-29

KNIGHT TURBOS HAS ADDED ANOTHER MAGNUM TO OUR STABLE. WE NOW OWN TWO TWIN MAGNUMS--BOTH BLACK, ONE 2.7 AND THE OTHER A 3.5--AND ARE PRODUCING SUPERCHARGER KITS FOR BOTH ENGINES. DESIGNED FOR A SAFE 4.5 TO 5 PSI, THESE SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE BELT DRIVE TURBOS WILL ADD 60-75 EXTRA PONIES TO YOUR MAGNUM, 300, OR CHARGER. THE 2.7 IS UNDERPOWERED--TO SAY THE LEAST--AND WITH OUR BDT WILL OUTRUN THE 3.5 AND ALMOST CATCH AN R/T. THE 3.5 WHEN SUPERCHARGED WILL RUN WITH AN R/T. THE UNITS CAN BE UPGRADED IN THE FUTURE WITH ADDITIONAL MODIFICATIONS NEEDED TO THE BLOWER BEARINGS, FUEL SYSTEM, COMPUTER, INTERCOOLER AND AN ENGINE BUILD WITH FORGED INTERNALS. OUR UNITS ARE CAPABLE OF 15+ PSI BOOST WITH THE PROPER PREPERATIONS AND UPGRADES.
Do you mean there maybe some longevity issues if you mate these blocks to non natural aspiration?

I guess you have a point. Of course the cynic in me could see them conceivably not offering a turbo charged option as they might perform as well as big mill 8's and then cannibalize sales from a productive cash cow. But maybe there are stability issues with it. Of course to your point see the bolded in the quote.

My mom had a Daytona ES (2.5 turbo 4cyl) that sucker would scoot and got pretty good gas mileage not the most resilient vehicle, however.
I mean that these where not built with the intention for having forced air-induction and I'm concerned that it could have problems in the long term. The forged internals will help no doubt, but I think when you compare a NA version vs. a version that has an aftermarket force air induction, you will have lower problems in the long term.

From what I have observed, offering forced-air induction whether or not it is infact faster than offering a couple more fireholes tends to be less popular with customers than offering more displacement and fireholes. Chrysler first offering the turbo fours in place of having a V6, but they broke down and bought 3.0L V6 units from Mitsubishi back in the 80s because people who wanted a V6 where simply not satisfied with the turbo 4s. As time went on, the turbo fours continued to be less and less popular despite the fact that they were getting faster and faster all the time. As a whole, I would not object to Chrysler offering a turbo or supercharged V6, in fact I would love to see them to that so then we can have SRT-6 versions of the Avenger and Sebring, but I don't expect it would be very successful in the Challenger as it didn't work in the Firebird. In a muscle car, it is better to offer more power through displacement, than more power through squeezing as much power out of a V6 as possible.

I liked the Daytona turbos, I wish they never would have completely stopped that offering.

80's mitsus (conquest/starion), I always liked'em too. I can see what you're talking about with the lowers, they're engineered to handle so much from a power stroke and when you cram 10 lbs of fuel into the proverbial 5 lb sack, I can see where that would cause the lowers to fail prematurely.

I own a 1988 Conquest TSI and in the process of putting the engine back together. It is set up for a turbo and has a few things that you need internally for the turbo motor to live. It has oil squirters and an oil cooler. Also has low compression pistons 7:1 and a knock sensor. I know the cars of present day have a knock sensor, but this was a car of the 80s. Also the computor retards timing as it increases in RPM. I have added some improvements myself and these will also help as the boost is turned up
