RE: I am hearing horror stories about some Dealers and I will not be one. Read More
npeifer - re: holdback - your are right - LOL- I was thinking friends and family %1 under invoice, rather than the 3% of Holdback .. Thanks for catching that. So offering a few dollars over invoice still gives the dealer a nice fat profit (given the economy). So please let me correct myself.
MSRP 41,985
Invoice: 39,732
Holdback: 1,200
Uplift: 2,253
So if a person offers $800 over invoice, the dealer gets 2K - that seems like a reasonable profit. I negotiated less.
So as for NOT giving me a deal, that is fine. I got a decent deal I am happy with, and on an SRT - the pricing we are referencing here. But apparently I struck a nerve with you?.? 8^) Didn't mean to make you defensive.
I was not bashing you specificlly, I was making the statement there is enough dealer gouging to go around. Do you argee? Those that participate in forums of enthusiast such as this, I WOULD THINK, would be more sensitive to the interest, economy, and reality to offer better pricing to likeminded individuals. So to offer MSRP is ridiculous, would you not agree?
Look at what Frank Ewasyshyn said, Chrysler will build as many as they can (need to). To me, this kind of implies there will be enough in the market as necessary, meaning allottments may in fact be high. If that is the case, then wouldn't it stand to reason the SE and even possibly the R/T become comodity products like all other cars? ( side bar: Cars ARE a commodity, high priced granted, but commodities none the less. So the incentives and the F&F pricing will come. Of course the appeal to the customer is the "wow" factor; but from your side, it is just another product to sell. That does not mean you wouldn't be enthusiastic about selling this product, however, tell me I am wrong, isn't it just another product?) So we have the same old dance, I offer this, you counter offer that and at the end of the day we both accept "whatever".
Cheers and good selling [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
