Default RE: Hood Vents

Just a guess
ORIGINAL: RoswellGrey

Well, you gotta figure that someone, somewhere in Dodge's engineering sector determined for whatever reason that the airflow should be directed over the exhaust manifolds, hence the vents are doing exactly what they're designed to do.

Jeremiah, notice I always put "functional" in quote marks, because, like you, prefer using the Old School definition. However, the modern vents indeed ARE functional but, as Paladin says, for a different reason.
If they cool air is directed to the exhaust manafold's . The cooler temp could maybe and I said maybe help draw the exhaust gas out of the engine. Hot air will go to a cooler place . And I think the converter is just off the manafold also. I'm not looking for every HP that can be got out of the new Challenger . I'm happy with my 6 speed R/T with 3.92 gear. But I've had many people ask to see the engine. Dodge should have dressed it up more.
