I purchased my Challlenger only because I always wanted one ever since my friends big brother had a new 1970 Chally when i was too young to buy one. It was black and bad looking.
It is true, chrysler does nothing to market the Challengers or Chargers. their advertising budget seems to go only to the Jeeps and The Avengers some years ago. ( Mini chargers ) I am happy to get one just as well, I just hope they support the parts and repairs on these down the road ( 5-20 years ) etc. they drive nice and look nice.
