Shaker Hood Opinions Wanted!

RE: Shaker Hood Opinions Wanted!
Looks good.
I hope you guys also look at producing a factory looking hood that just has exaggerated "bulge area" for the larger, functional air scoops...say another 3/4 inch higher and make corresponding underhood ducting to make it functional to stock air box. That is what I would want. Plus, as others have mentioned on this forum, you'd then be able to better see the raised scoop area from inside the car, just like the original Challengers.

I would like to see it more the size of the orignal found on the 70/71 Challenger as they look better than the new Charger type....The hood is so big, that anything smaller starts to look toy like. I know of a shop doing just that......looks very nice. Just my two cents...........good luck on your project

We are developing a functional ram air hood for the 2008 Challenger in a shaker hood style. We have a prototype now and would like to start production in 6 to 8 weeks. Let me know what you like or dislike about the attached photos.

This one looks like a solid one piece hood/scoop and it better be functional. I don't gadgets just for looks.......they better enhance performance, otherwise it is a fake hypocrite car.

Ummmmm.... please except a comment from someone who was actually around when the original Shaker Fresh Air Hood shook, but....that puppy was a glorified air cleaner, and sat on top of the, ready for it, carburetors! What exactly is this shaker thingy attached to? The airbox? That's at the forward right corner of the engine compartment, and it's also gone on mine and many other SRT8s, replaced by CAI. And what exactly is it doing? Are you building it as a type of CAI linkage to the throttle body, because, if you are, plunking it directly over that piping hot Intake manifold is not the best place to put an unrestricted delivery system of cold air. And finally, exactly what is going to shake the Shaker? I assume you are aware that the 70s Shakers shook because of how poorly built the cars were back then. They were atop 350+hp, 470 lb/ft cast-iron torque wrenches that were trying their best to tear a car apart. My 6.1 Hemi barely vibrates even at hi revs. And the 5.7 Hemi, totally hidden under a black shroud, seems even more secure on it's mounts than its big brother.
Not really sure what a Shaker is for nowadays, lads. Are you going to sell it with a 8- track with it?

Well... I never did hear them quote that it was a "functional" shaker hood. Maybe they could motorize it somehow to give it an authentic shaker hood shake...
I think I kinda like your outspoken style VidLit...
