Default Trunk lid Drains plugged by factory sticker

Hey guys. Check the lower drain holes in you trunk lid. I found mine were plugged with a clear sticker. This must have been as assembly oversight. These drains allow the trunk braces to drain if somehow water gets in them. See my pictures (if i downoladed them correctly).[IMG][/IMG]

I have the same on my Challenger, but I'm not sure if this really is a problem because the same plastic was on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I suspect is is a consistant application across all Chrysler products. Is it really a drain port or a cheap means to prevent water from getting into the folded sheet metal corners?

Looks like a nice place for bugs to crawl in or maybe some bees.

They are definitely drain holes. Its either an oversight as I earlier said or they want to block the drains to stop water from coming in "in reverse". I found the second possiblity nearly impossible. I must admit that the previous post describing his other chrysler as having those stickers is causing me to have second thoughts. I will take a garden hose and flood the area around my trunk lid (while closed)to see if any water can get in to my newly unclogged drains. If I succeed, the drain stickers should be off to allow water to drain out of the trunk braces in the rare instance they incur water. I believe they could collect water if the trunk is open and its raining.
