Vanishing Point

RE: Vanishing Point
Movie Payback has a nice 69 road runner in it. And "52 Pick up" has a 68 GTX w/ 6pak hook scoop.
BTW, Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine is hinting that a Vanishing Pt "package" may be in the offering in '09..who knows. But I do see white as color option on the Dodge.com initial Challenger page opening...albeit "dead" right now.

RE: Vanishing Point
Was there anything particularly special about the Vanishing Point Challenger other than it having a white paintjob? I know the Bullit Mustang had smoked torque thrusts and a special paintjob as well as a blacked out grille and a 390 engine.
Can anyone give me a bit more info about the car?

If I were them, I'd the VP version w/ 6.1 or 6.4 (if out by then), only offer manual trans obviously, and trim down some of the extras (no sun roof, no navigation, no cupholders) as special set of Foose-like Rallye rims, quad exhaust tips (like they had on concept) and some subtle VP badging where the R/T emblems would have gone on the original.

ORIGINAL: JJMPB
hopped up to go over 160 mph
hopped up to go over 160 mph
and to think we are shouting for a bigger engine already when the SRT8 is good for 175 stock!
Did the VP car have a white interior or was she black? Does anyone know if she had a black bumblebee stripe or not? That would be a cool retro feature on the challenger as an aftermarket upgrade

Yep, I believe it was black vinyl, given standard bucket seats. Also did not have console w/ the Pistol Grip (rather rare), which is why I "deleted" cupholders, etc. in my "fantasy" version above. The VP had no graphics (ie. no R/T stripes at all), but had the Rallye wheels and Goodyear white lettered tires, not even a vinyl top. Awesome car.
