What I expect will happen, though, is that the 20s will be packaged with something else that I do want and I'll wind up with them anyway. That's OK, too. The more I see of the R/T, the easier I am to please! I just want one!

They definitely continue to do a great job with the 2009 models and thank God for the base model V8 and the V6. That will undoubtedly help it compete more effectively in the market. But my one concern is that according to this article the R/T will do 0-60 in "under 6 seconds"? Does anybody else think that's a little...ahem...weak? I was kind of hoping it would be a little more competitive (5.1 - 5.3 seconds range). Also, I've seen the R/T's 5.7 liter motor power output projected at 370 and 375 HP. Anybody know which figure is correct?

The 6 speed manual without MDS will have 375 HP.
And yes, "under 6 seconds" is very vague, but I supposed the statement (in an effort to be accurate overall) is also linked to the difference in tranny's. One "may" be 5.1 and the other 5.5. Who knows for sure yet?

most charger r/ts without the new revamped hemi pull out 0-60 in 5.4 to 5.6 stock so you can imagin what this is going to do with auto and a stick either or. i would guess 5.1manual and 5.3 auto

Yep. I think this would be expectation/buzz management. They keep it vague so they can wow ya, when they finally do the big reveals.

they already know. the question is... is their number based on a novice or expert driver. You would think their numbers would reflect someone not afraid to put the pedal on the floor. Maybe they are conservative for insurance purposes. Anyway you look at it it will be May before we can verify the actual auto numbers.
