You know this sounds like an interesting idea. This might be the best option. The problem I see with Chrysler being bought by any other manufacture is that they will probably make the same mistakes that Daimler made (hold back Chrysler's innovations because they will make the parent company look inefficient and overpriced). I'm going to do more research on Magna. There is something about that name that rings a bell.
UPDATE
I looked them up and they were supposively also interested in Aston Martin. I guess they are now interested in buying loss making companies. The only thing that concerns me is they are a very political. I don't like companies who are excessively political.

Magna is a big supplier of parts to car manufactureres as well they have a network of Horse Racing track around north america, the founder Frank Stronach has wanted to build a magna car for sometime now and this may be his chance, although his companies are known to be non-union shops.
