New fuel regulation bill
This new bill that was passed is killing off the muscle cars. I just read that they wouldn't build the Trans Am because of it. I'm not a Pontiac guy but i don't won't to just race import's all the time, i want a real challenge! Whats your view on the bill thats going to kill our beloved challenger?
Buy'em in Mexico and bring them in illegally, the same people who put that bill forward don't mind things coming in illegally from the south!

Pontiac was never going to bring back the Firebird anyway even without this new EPA bill - at least while Lutz is still in charge, so it's not like the news of the Trans Am never returning was ever really news anyway.
The new standards are basically 13 years off. That's not affecting the Challenger. And Yankee is right: the Firebird/Trans Am was never coming back regardless of any bill. It seems like it wouldn't be hard for low-volume gas guzzlers to be produced; it's the hundreds of thousands of SUVs that would be the problem I think.
