Default Oil Change Frequency

How often do people change the oil in their R/T's?

I ask because I always thought that it was supposed to be 3,000 miles or 3 months. However, I'm reading in the owner's manual (yes I actually read it) that the oil needs to be changed every 6,000 miles.

Thanks,

Steven

Non-synthetic oil is cheap. You can go 6,000 miles, but why take the chance? Also, the thing to take into consideration is your driving style. More stop and go driving, as opposed to a lot of interstate driving, would necessitate more frequent oil changes.

Thanks. I'll still do it every 3000 like I used to with synthetic oil. I'm not concerned by the cost. Like you said, why take the chance.

Thanks,

Steven

I don't believe that you're taking a chance going 6k with synthetic oil....but to each his own.

Don't use non-synthetic in a sport mode equipped 345 HEMI. Use semi or full synthetic. I change mine (5W20 Pennzoil Premium Synthetic) every 3000 miles. You need to account for idling time as well as miles driven.
